Our Animals

Barn owls are nocturnal predators with amazing hearing. They come out at night time to find their food and although their eye sight is pretty good, they mainly use their hearing to find their prey. Their ears are at different heights enabling them to key into sounds much better than we can. Their diet consists of small mammals such as mice.

*Ever heard the famous tale of the ugly duckling? Well it couldn’t be any truer for barn owls…owlets are definitely not the cutest of baby animals, as we discovered when we first got Bella our barn owl, but it wasn’t long before she had shed her baby feathers, grown her adult¬†feathers and became a beautiful bird!

Bella the barn owl is great for all types of events, especially for topics covering nocturnal animals or British wildlife. Bella is also great for our owl flying demonstrations.
